How to Create a Fanzine

So you’re silly enough to want to write a fanzine, hey? I’m not going to tell you what to do (the whole point of a fanzine is to make what you want!) but hopefully my tips will help you produce a better result with a lot less aggravation.

Who am I to spout about ‘zines? My contribution to the ‘zine scene (spout about, ‘zine scene, hee hee) has been primarily to Australian Doctor Who fanzines, with the obvious highlight being my joint and solo editorships of 18 issues of the bi-monthly Sonic Screwdriver. During that period, Sonic picked up three Double Gamma awards for best Australian Doctor Who fanzine, and another for myself as best editor. I’ve also contributed to a number of other fanzines. And I even had the dubious honour of killing one…
